Terms of Service
Last updated: April 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the 2ndOpinion platform ("Service"), operated by 2ndOpinion ("we," "us," or "our"), available at get2ndopinion.dev, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all access methods, including the web dashboard, REST API, MCP server, CLI tool, JavaScript SDK, and Python SDK.
2. Description of Service
2ndOpinion is an AI-to-AI code review platform. You submit code diffs or questions via our API, and the Service routes them to one or more large language models (Claude by Anthropic, Codex by OpenAI, Gemini by Google) to return structured analysis, risk assessments, and recommendations.
The Service includes tools for code review, consensus analysis, bug hunting, security audits, test generation, AI debate, and a skills marketplace.
3. User Accounts
To use the Service, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
4. Billing & Payments
The Service offers free and paid subscription tiers, as well as one-time credit pack purchases. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page and may change with 30 days' notice.
Monthly credits reset at the start of each billing cycle and do not roll over. Bonus credits from credit packs are valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.
You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial months.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
- Submit malicious code designed to attack or exploit our systems or LLM providers
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the underlying models or prompts
- Circumvent rate limits, authentication, or credit checks
- Resell access to the Service without written permission
- Use the Service to generate harmful, abusive, or deceptive content
- Share API keys or credentials with unauthorized parties
6. Intellectual Property
Your code: You retain all ownership rights to the code diffs and source code you submit to the Service. 2ndOpinion does not claim any ownership or license to your code. We do not use your code to train models.
Our service: The 2ndOpinion platform, including its software, design, prompts, documentation, and branding, is owned by 2ndOpinion and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without permission.
AI output: Analysis results generated by the Service are provided for your use. You may use, share, or incorporate AI-generated suggestions into your projects without restriction.
7. Code & Data Handling
Code diffs submitted for analysis are processed by third-party LLM providers: Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (Codex), and Google (Gemini). Each provider has its own data handling policies.
2ndOpinion does not store your source code or diffs beyond a short-lived cache (up to 5 minutes) used for performance optimization. After the cache expires, your code data is deleted from our systems.
We store metadata about requests (timestamps, model used, credit cost, response times) for usage tracking and analytics, but not the code content itself.
8. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
AI-generated suggestions, reviews, and analysis provided by the Service are not guaranteed to be correct, complete, or free of errors. AI models can hallucinate, miss issues, or provide incorrect recommendations.
Always review AI suggestions before applying them to your codebase. 2ndOpinion is a supplementary review tool, not a replacement for human code review, testing, or quality assurance processes.
9. API Usage
API access is subject to rate limits (currently 10 requests per minute per user) and credit-based usage. You must authenticate all API requests with a valid API key or JWT token.
You are responsible for securing your API keys. If you believe a key has been compromised, revoke it immediately from your dashboard and generate a new one.
10. Skills Marketplace
The skills marketplace allows creators to publish custom review skills. Creators are solely responsible for the content and quality of their prompts. 2ndOpinion reviews skills before publication but does not guarantee their accuracy or safety.
Revenue from skill usage is shared: 70% to the creator, 30% to 2ndOpinion. Payouts are processed monthly via Stripe Connect.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay for services. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
Upon termination, your access to the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, 2ndOpinion and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these Terms or the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
